I wanted to write and thank you for the socks, NVG pouches and anti-chafe. The men sincerely appreciate your generosity! We are fortunate to have great people such as yourselves supporting us. I wish you and Timmy, Katie and Meghan a great and blessed New Year!
Pictures of the platoon will be coming soon!
My Best,
Dan
Dear Scherer Family,
Thank you for supporting (me) throughout my Marine Corps. career. Everything from my white belt to any questions.
Thank you guys for everything.
Bill
I wanted to take a second and tell you that we received your care packages on Christmas Day! God has a funny way of timing things for when you need him the most. Your family and your son’s foundation has truley been a blessing to all of us here at VMU1. I thank you and want you to know I appreciate your son’s service and sacrific “Never forgotten”!!! I really liked the socks as the one’s I had were thinner and as the temperature gets colder so do my feet LOL!!
I hope you have had a Merry Christmas and I wish you and yours a Happy New Year!
God Bless You,
Tim
Dear Scherer Family,
I am writing to say thanks for the care package that you sent. The eye protection that you sent was in fact very nice, and I know the Marines will get good use of them. I am looking forward to using them for snowboarding when I get back, so rest assured they will get alot of use both here and in the states.
This deployment seems to be going well. The Marines in the Platoon have been learning alot about construction because the mission here is not the same as it was a year or two ago. It makes it a little easier to stay safe. And building stuff can really be pretty fun.
I hope that this letter finds you and your family well and I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks again,
GySgt Hardin
I’m Corporal Renner with 1st CEB Bravo Co. Thank you so much for the Oakley’s you sent to the platoon. I am much appreciative. They are very nice to have on hot, sunny days, which should be getting hotter here in no time.
Thanks again,
and God Bless You,
Alex Bradley Renner
How are things? Sorry I haven’t wrote you. It’s been a very difficult deployment then I was expecting.
We all were so glad to get the new shades and they couldn’t have come at a better time. Also the Christmas tress were a big moral booster. I’m not too good with computers so I haven’t been able to send any of the new pic’s, but I’ll be home in a little while. Then Jess can be sure to get them to you. We all sat around the big tree and did a Secret Santa gift exchange.
All the other little things you have sent have been very useful. The ear plugs are very cool. None of us have seen them before, but liked them a lot.
Again, we shouldn’t be here much longer so we won’t be needing anything else. It has meant so much to me knowing you are there supporting us. Thanks again.
Sincerley,
Scott
Tim and Meghan Scherer,
Where do I begin? Wow, as I am on my second combat deployment to Afganistan, we been out a long lime and in the fight the last 8 days. We come back and everyone’s like Hudnell you got like 20 packages. I was like what, my wife didn’t send me that many. So I drop my gear and go find this tower of packages from you. I didn’t know what to expect. All the stuff ya’ll sent helped me and my Marines out so much. It really6 does. I don’t know where to begin or how thankful I am for people like ya’ll. It brought tears to my eyes. From my heart, thank you for everything.
I would love to hear back from ya’ll. Please write back and keep in touch. I would love to get to know about ya’ll and the Semper Fi Fund for “Chris”. Please keep in touch. Thank you all and everyone that supports you.
Love,
Cpl. Hudnell, E.P.

Tio The Scherers,
Hello how are you? I’m writing to thank you for the care package you sent, it was a surprise, I wasn’t expecting it to be from yu guys. I also wanted to let you know I look forward to next Memorial Day if you’re still doing the run. Right now we’re little less than halfway done here. We’re starting to get busy so time seems to go reasonably quick. We’re scheduled to be replaced in November, so maybe I can see you guys then. Hope all is well and thank you again.
Sincerely,
Cpl. Nick DeSimone
